Project Manager

The Role:
The Project Manager oversees projects of any size, ensuring their efficient and effective delivery within agreed timescales, budgets, and requirements. This role also involves the optimal utilization of staff and third-party resources, and ensuring all project activities adhere to the company's quality standards and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage assigned projects, keeping clients and senior management informed about progress.
- Develop and agree on project plans and Statements of Work with clients, aligned with contractual agreements.
- Monitor project progress against plans and budgets, addressing issues proactively and escalating as necessary. Maintain the project plan with forecasted completion dates and impact analysis.
- Track actual costs versus plans using Microsoft Project and internal systems.
- Manage ongoing issues, ensuring project objectives are met.
- Control all project personnel and activities, ensuring compliance with standards and methodologies.
- Manage third-party contractors, ensuring deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations, and escalate issues to the Program Manager when needed.
- Assess and report risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies.
- Maintain decision and action logs, and manage change control processes.
- Apply configuration management principles to project documentation.
- Maintain and publish project dashboards, including key metrics and statistics.
- Prepare weekly reports for internal review and client distribution.
- Participate in client reporting sessions and progress reviews.
- Monitor costs and efforts weekly, ensuring alignment with budgets.
- Coordinate validation and verification activities to meet requirements and quality standards.
- Plan and oversee release and implementation activities, including documentation and handovers.
- Work closely with Solution Architects to ensure quality of deliverables.
- Address customer change requests and satisfaction issues, escalating as needed.
- Contribute to resource management, utilization, and capacity planning.
- Refine project delivery methodologies and share lessons learned.
- Manage subcontracts and work orders in coordination with finance and purchasing departments.
The Person:
- Proven track record as a Project Manager with full lifecycle software implementation experience.
- Experience managing third-party vendors, including ISVs.
- Experience managing Microsoft projects and large-scale projects (>750 man-days).
- Leadership experience managing teams of over 10 staff.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Project, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Prince2 Practitioner or APM certification preferred.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira, VSTS, TFS, Scrum, and Kanban.
- Specialist knowledge in ERP and/or CRM implementations, preferably with Microsoft technologies.
- Excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to produce professional presentations and attention to detail.
- Flexible, deadline-driven, and discreet in handling confidential information.
