Job description

Launch Your Career (or Restart It!) in Project Management with Innovate Tax

Looking to kick-start or restart your career in project management? Innovate Tax is recruiting for one Project Management Office (PMO) opportunity with two development routes: Apprenticeship or Traineeship.

Both routes give you hands-on experience across product development, operations and information technology projects. You do not need previous project management or IT experience. We are looking for curiosity, motivation, organisation and a willingness to learn.

Choose Your Development Route

  • Apprenticeship Route: combine practical work with a recognised apprenticeship qualification, dedicated study time, mentoring and structured development.
  • Traineeship Route: develop through structured on-the-job training, mentoring and coaching, without the apprenticeship study requirement.

When you apply, you will be asked which route you are applying for.

Who we are

Innovate Tax is a global tax technology consultancy helping businesses automate and manage VAT, indirect taxes, including GST, through established technology platforms. We also implement compliance tools, including e-invoicing, and develop our own applications incorporating AI technology.

We are headquartered in the UK, with offices in Bognor Regis and Monmouth. We also operate in the USA and India, with remote team members and contractors across the UK, Europe and beyond. Our environment is friendly, fast-paced and focused on helping people reach their potential.

The Project Management Office plays a crucial role in the successful delivery of client and internal projects.

Many of our current project and delivery team members began their careers through our training and apprenticeship programmes. Some now lead teams and travel internationally to implement solutions across major ERP platforms, including Oracle and SAP for global organisations operating across more than 150 countries.

What You’ll Do (With Full Support and Training)

You will work alongside experienced project managers and gain practical project management experience across development, operations and information technology workstreams and projects. Your day-to-day work may include:

  • under the supervision of a Project Manager, coordinating project activities across solution implementations, product development and IT workstreams using our bespoke ticketing system, helping to keep work organised and deadlines visible.
  • working alongside the Operations Director to produce and analyse data relating to people/ resource allocation and usage, as well as other project-related data
  • learning and using our bespoke project-related applications, with the possibility of becoming an applications champion within the project and operations team(s)
  • providing PMO administration and coordination, including resource planning and timesheet administration.
  • time permitting, and under the supervision of a Project Manager, working with the project team(s) to test internal applications, capture issues and escape findings to the project team.
  • helping with the creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures and user guides to reflect project/ operations process changes, using our bespoke company application.
  • once trained, potentially visiting our UK or international sites as part of the role.

The role is designed to build your confidence, project management capability and understanding of how technology projects are delivered. The ultimate aim is the progression to becoming a Project Manager in the future.

  • Organised, reliable and with good attentive to detail.
  • Positive, curious and ready to develop in a fast-paced environment.

No previous project management or information technology experience is required. We will provide training, mentoring and support.

What You’ll Get
  • On-the-job training and mentoring from experienced project management professionals.
