Job summary

Somerset Council in Taunton is recruiting a Project Management Apprentice. Through a two-year Level 4 apprenticeship, you’ll gain hands‑on experience in planning, coordination and stakeholder engagement while working toward a nationally recognised qualification.

You’ll support the Connect to Work programme, assist with project coordination, reporting and improvement initiatives across employment, skills and inclusion services to deliver positive outcomes for residents.

Qualifications

• Interest in project management and service improvement.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• IT literacy with MS Office tools and ability to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide project coordination and administrative support to the Connect to Work programme.
• Maintain project plans, action trackers, risk logs and programme documentation.
• Prepare reports, presentations and performance information for stakeholders.
• Organise meetings, prepare agendas, take notes and monitor actions.
• Assist with gathering, analysing and presenting information for decision-making.
• Support collaboration across employment, skills and inclusion services.
