Job description

We're looking for three Project Liaison Coordinators to play a vital role in the successful delivery of a diverse programme of wastewater projects. These roles will cover wastewater network and process and will cover projects across all of Cheshire. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of project delivery, acting as the key link between operational teams and project delivery partners to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with operational and regulatory requirements.

As a trusted operational representative throughout the project lifecycle, you'll provide technical expertise, influence key choices and ensure solutions are practical, sustainable and fit for purpose. You'll help shape projects from concept through to construction, ensuring that operational performance, customer outcomes and environmental obligations remain at the forefront of delivery.

Working closely with operational teams, project managers, contractors and stakeholders, you'll drive a whole-system approach that delivers long-term value while supporting regulatory and business performance targets.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Champion a systems-thinking approach to wastewater performance, risk management and solution development.
  • Represent Wastewater Operations throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring operational, environmental and regulatory requirements are embedded within designs and delivery plans.
  • Provide operational expertise during project definition, design reviews, value management workshops and constructability assessments.
  • Support the identification of spill reduction opportunities and drive initiatives focused on optimisation, efficiency and "keep it out, operate better" solutions before investment in capital build.
  • Act as the operational lead at key project meetings including HAZCON, HAZOP, ALMFS and HAZCOMM reviews.
  • Coordinate responses between operational teams, design teams and project delivery partners to ensure timely decision-making and project progression.
  • Review asset supportability, operating plans and technical documentation to ensure assets are maintainable, compliant and aligned with operational requirements.
  • Support enabling works, including access arrangements, power requirements, customer liaison and third-party engagement to mitigate project risks.
  • Fulfil the role of Responsible Person where required, ensuring operational changes and approvals are managed in line with work authorisation procedures.
  • Work closely with project teams, contractors and construction supervisors to ensure safe delivery and compliance throughout the construction phase.
What You'll Bring:
  • Experience within the water or wastewater industry, ideally with a strong understanding of wastewater networks, pumping stations and/or treatment operations.
  • A BTEC Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in wastewater operations, or a willingness to undertake the required training.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety and regulatory requirements, including work authorisation processes, confined spaces and operational compliance.
  • The ability to influence stakeholders, challenge where required and ensure operational and regulatory standards remain uncompromised throughout project delivery.
  • Excellent planning, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • A collaborative approach with the confidence to build effective relationships across operational, engineering, maintenance and external stakeholder groups.
  • Full UK driving licence.
What We Offer:
  • A generous annual leave package of 26 days, which increases to 30 days after four years of service (increases one day per year), in addition to 8 bank holidays
  • A competitive pension scheme with up to 14% employer contribution, 21% combined, and life cover
  • Up to 7.5% performance-related bonus scheme, as well as recognition awards for outstanding achievements
  • A comprehensive healthcare plan through our company-funded scheme
  • MyGymDiscounts - gym and wellness benefit that offers up to 25% off on gym memberships and digital fitness subscriptions
  • Best Doctors
  • Salary Finance
  • Wealth at Work courses
  • Deals and discounts
  • EVolve Car Scheme
  • Employee Assistance Plan
  • Mental health first aiders
