Location: Barrow (Hybrid, 3-4 days onsite week)

Duration: 6 Month Contract

Rate: £63.40 per hour umbrella (Inside IR35)

Overview

Typically individual contributor roles within Nuclear Discipline, Skills and Capability. Works as part of the Nuclear, Skills and Capability team with a high degree of technical autonomy, within established nuclear procedures and practices. Performs a variety of the most complex tasks around Nuclear Baseline management, Nuclear Training and Nuclear Strategic Workforce management.

Applies knowledge and experience to systems and processes to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems within the area of responsibility of Nuclear Discipline, Skills and Capability. Proposes improvements to nuclear discipline processes and contributes or may act as a lead on technical governance nuclear discipline processes.

Provides specialist nuclear discipline technical advice, training and guidance to other professionals, technical staff and/or customers, particularly Functional Nuclear Capability Teams. Establishes and maintains direct contact and interface with stakeholders in relation to the delivery of nuclear discipline projects.

Key Deliverables
  • Perform a variety of the most complex tasks, around Nuclear Baseline management, Nuclear Training and Nuclear Strategic Workforce management, working autonomously within established procedures and practices
  • Apply technical knowledge and experience of nuclear capability principles, practices and processes
  • Use expertise to provide advice and guidance, and training to other professionals within project/team, and to other stakeholders and customers
  • Act as a project focal point for nuclear discipline specific tasks, championing continuous improvement, ensuring best practices are adopted, and ensuring overall compliance to nuclear discipline strategy
Key Skills & Experience
  • Considerable experience in nuclear capability, training and shipbuilding
  • Experience in defence or safety critical industry
  • Good understanding of how own activities integrate into the activities of their own team
  • Good awareness of activities of other teams
  • Requires a breadth and depth of specialist technical nuclear capability and shipbuilding knowledge and a broad experience of processes, data, systems and the business environment
