Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is seeking a Project Leader for the Hinkley Point C project in Somerset. You will lead delivery from mobilisation to completion, overseeing demolition and bulk earthworks, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring safety, quality and programme adherence.

The role requires proven leadership on large civil projects, with experience in regulated environments and strong communication with stakeholders. Nuclear considerations and compliance are central to this position.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Project Leader or Senior Site Manager on major projects.
• Strong experience in demolition and bulk earthworks.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
• Solid understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and delivery.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in regulated or safety-critical environments is advantageous.
• CSCS/SMSTS or equivalent site management qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage project delivery from mobilisation through to completion.
• Oversee demolition and bulk earthworks activities with emphasis on safety and efficiency.
• Manage site teams, subcontractors and specialist contractors.
• Develop and monitor project programmes ensuring milestones are achieved.
• Coordinate resources, plant, labour and materials to maximise productivity.
• Ensure works meet specifications, quality and HSE standards.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues and opportunities.
• Collaborate with Project Manager, commercial and engineering teams and client representatives.
• Monitor progress and provide reporting on programme, cost, quality and safety.
• Promote a positive safety culture across the project team.
• Deliver works in line with stringent nuclear construction requirements.
