Job summary

Vax, part of Global Floorcare under TTI, seeks a Project Leader- Engineering to drive end-to-end project delivery across cost, schedule, and performance objectives. You will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate planning, and ensure timely decisions while aligning with engineering and manufacturing partners globally.

This role emphasizes NPD process understanding, design reviews, and collaboration with Operations and Suppliers to deliver high-quality floorcare products.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years engineering experience in related field.
• Proven success in past work designing mass-produced products.
• Experience managing moderately complex new product development projects.
• High level of engineering aptitude including materials and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of part costing methodology.
• Good understanding of engineering specs and roles of Suppliers, Quality, and Purchasing.
• Excellent problem identification and resolution skills.
• Results-driven with ability to meet aggressive schedules in a fast-paced, agile culture.
• Ability to develop productive business relationships and influence internal and external teams.
• Ability to draft comprehensive test plans and specifications.
• Basic understanding of 3D CAD and tolerance analysis.
• 10-15% travel required.

• Provides input for performance appraisals for engineering teams.

We’relooking for someone who can lead cross-functional teams to successfully deliver products by driving alignment, execution, and accountability across cost, schedule, and performanceobjectives. Own end-to-end program delivery and business outcomes by ensuring effective planning, milestone execution, andtimelydecision-making. Responsibilities:

• Provides leadership over moderate to highly complex design projects. Gives direction, guidance and engineering expertise to local and global team members.Reviewswork of designers,engineersand other project team members. Set goals for the team.

• Develops Schedules, agendas,facilitatesand documents project meetings. Tracks project schedule to ensure adherence to timelines. Regularlymakespresentations of project status.

• Responsible for the completion of assigned engineering projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines.

• Able to coordinate project planning efforts for moderately complexity projects. Identify critical path tasks and project risks with moderate supervision.

• Applies a good understanding of the NPD process from conception through product launch. Anticipates engineering deliverables in all phases. Clearly understands the philosophies behind the various NPD phases and is able to objectivelydeterminethe maturity level of a design, development process, and use of the CTQ matrix.

• Frame up technical tradeoff discussions with Marketing and other cross function team members. Exercise effective scheduling development work to meet overall project milestones.

• Ensure effective communication with cross functional international team as well as management team. This includes daily team communications as well ashigh levelproject summaries.

• Identifypossible design/manufacturinghurdles that must be overcome to manufacture product. Effectively scrutinize designs for potential weaknesses and suggest improvements.

• Work with Operations,Qualityand Suppliers to confirm delivery of conforming products.

• Motivate cross functional team to work toward, andaccomplish, projectobjectives. Maintain focus of project team on cost,performanceand schedule.

• Does not have formal supervisory responsibilities, although will provide input for performance appraisals for Engineering and cross functional project team members.

What we need from you:

• Minimum 5yearsengineering experience in related field.

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.

• Proven success in past work experience in designing a product that was mass produced.

• Experience in managing moderately complex new product development projects.

• Mustpossessa high levelof engineering aptitude including a broad knowledge of materials and manufacturing processassociatedMilwaukee Tool products. Solid understanding of part costingmethodology.

• Good understanding of engineering specifications and the roles of Suppliers, Quality, and Purchasing in delivering conforming parts and assemblies.
