Job overview

The role involves promoting safe, effective, high-quality, and cost-effective prescribing and medication management within the local area and across Greater Manchester. The post holder will lead various clinical and non-clinical workstreams, managing multiple projects simultaneously, providing technical leadership within the Medicines Optimisation Team, and supporting pharmacy technicians locally and across the region.

The responsibilities include supporting the delivery of Medicines Optimisation and primary care quality objectives, influencing prescribing habits, managing work programmes, analyzing prescribing data, and leading projects both locally and system-wide.

Main duties of the job

Identify, implement, and deliver on Medicines Optimisation and primary care quality objectives. Support communication and stakeholder management, analyze prescribing data, and provide clinical advice to prescribers. Lead projects and develop clinical and non-clinical audits, SOPs, guidelines, and policies.

Communicate complex, sensitive information tactfully; persuade and negotiate to influence prescribing behaviors; manage difficult situations professionally; provide advanced clinical guidance; facilitate and lead meetings; challenge colleagues appropriately; contribute to internal and external communications; demonstrate advanced computer skills; analyze clinical and financial data; contribute to strategic planning; coordinate complex programmes; assist in financial management; and supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff.

Experience
