Job Description

Join the House of Commons as a Project Manager and help deliver projects that shape and protect the iconic Parliamentary Estate. Managing schemes from £50k to £2m, you'll lead work from initial concept to handover, ensuring compliance with Parliamentary design standards and delivering outcomes that meet the needs of a wide range of stakeholders.

You’ll steer projects through the RIBA stages, developing business cases, managing design and procurement, coordinating specialist consultants and reviewing technical work. On site, you’ll oversee contractors to ensure progress, cost and quality stay on track, always meeting safety, security and heritage requirements. With established frameworks to support delivery and scope to innovate and improve ways of working, you’ll have the chance to influence how Parliament delivers its projects and occasionally deputise for senior leaders.

This role is offered on a hybrid working basis, with an expectation of you spending 60% of your time in the office.

What we're looking for.
  • Minimum NVQ L4 in a construction related topic or the 5 years equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of how construction/refurbishment/conservation projects are delivered.
  • Knowledge of process for appointing and overseeing external consultants and contractors to ensure project delivery is to time and budget.
  • Demonstrable financial and budget management skills and the understanding how to identify risks, issues, assumptions, constraints and dependencies.
  • Evidence of planning and organising project documentation, understanding of filing structures and how to protect sensitive information.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and the commitment to a work environment of mutual trust and respect.
