Project Health and Safety Manager (Falkland Islands)

  • Contract Duration: 1 year from start date - might be extended

  • Rate: £700-£800pd
  • Clearance Required: SC Clearance

We are seeking a Project Health and Safety Manager with a strong background in construction and project management to provide essential health and safety support and advice for high-profile IT infrastructure projects in the Falkland Islands. This role is ideal for a professional who is ready to handle the challenges of a dynamic project environment and make a significant impact on our operations.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Serve as the lead Health and Safety Manager on-site, managing all aspects of the Safety Plan and on-site risks.
  • Provide support and guidance to project managers and engineers in the delivery of IT-related solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with UK H&S Legislation and best industry practices.
  • Manage safety critical works including confined space entry, work at height, asbestos management, manual handling, electrical, and civil works.
  • Liaise with the client’s health and safety teams and produce reports using KPIs.
  • Work closely with the Senior Health and Safety Manager and the Safety Team covering operations in the UK and overseas.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership in Health and Safety projects within a construction environment.
  • Ideal candidate would have a military background.
  • Detailed knowledge of the construction environment and associated regulations.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate holder.
  • Working towards or holding a Health & Safety Diploma level qualification.
  • Membership in a professional institute.
  • Ability to undergo and obtain security clearance.
  • Full clean driving license and willingness to travel.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and independent decision-making skills.
  • Experience in developing safe systems of work for safety critical operations.
