Interim Project Finance Business Partner
The Opportunity

A high-profile project within a well-established organisation requires an experienced Project Finance Business Partner to provide financial leadership, commercial insight and hands-on support. This role will partner closely with operational and project teams, owning the financial model that supports forecasting, investment tracking and strategic decisions.

This is an excellent interim opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, visibility and making a tangible impact.

Key Duties
  • Maintain and develop a robust Excel-based financial model to support ROI analysis and long-term projections

  • Monitor and report on project budgets, forecasts and actuals, ensuring alignment with the original business case

  • Work closely with non-finance stakeholders to provide meaningful insights and challenge assumptions

  • Prepare financial reports for senior leadership and external partners

  • Support month-end and year-end processes relating to project accounting

  • Assist with audit requirements and maintain appropriate documentation

  • Identify financial risks and ensure early escalation

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and coding requirements

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)

  • Have a strong background in project-based finance or business partnering

  • Possess advanced Excel skills, ideally with experience of financial modelling

  • Be confident operating in fast-paced, project-driven environments

  • Have excellent stakeholder management skills, able to support and challenge where appropriate

  • Be comfortable picking up work at pace and working independently
