Job summary

A leading Top 50 UK firm in Bristol is recruiting a Project Finance lawyer with 3+ PQE for its Energy & Infrastructure Finance team. You'll work on complex, high-value transactions across renewables, energy transition, and strategic infrastructure, with lenders, sponsors and investors.

The role offers direct client exposure from the outset, a collaborative, partner-led culture, and opportunities to develop a long-term specialism in project finance.

Qualifications

• 3+ PQE with Project Finance experience.
• Experience acting for lenders and/or borrowers.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and transaction management.
• Genuine interest in energy, infrastructure or energy transition.
• Commercial approach and client-facing skills.
• Collaborative and proactive mindset.
• Keen to develop a long-term project finance specialism.

Responsibilities

• Work on acquisition and asset financings.
• Refinancing of operational projects.

I'm working with a Top 50 UK firm that is looking to hire a Project Finance lawyer at 3+ PQE for its growing Energy & Infrastructure Finance team in Bristol.

This is an opportunity to work on complex and high-value transactions across some of the fastest-growing areas of the market, including renewables, energy transition, sustainable transport, data centres and strategic infrastructure.

The Firm

A highly regarded UK firm with a strong reputation for its Energy, Infrastructure and Banking & Finance work.

The team advises lenders, sponsors, developers, investors and public sector bodies on sophisticated transactions across the energy and infrastructure markets.

The culture is collaborative and Partner-led, with lawyers given early responsibility, direct client exposure and plenty of support to develop their technical expertise and client relationships.

The Role

You'll join an established Energy & Infrastructure Finance team working on a broad range of Project Finance transactions.

The work includes:

• Acquisition and asset financings
• Refinancing operational projects
• Portfolio and fund financings
• Cross-border energy and infrastructure projects

You'll work with lenders, sponsors, developers and investors on projects across areas including:

• Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
• Energy from waste
• Hydrogen and sustainable fuels
• Energy transition
• Defence and strategic infrastructure

There is also significant collaboration with Corporate, Real Estate, Construction, Planning and Regulatory teams, giving you a genuinely integrated view of the projects you're working on.

The role offers direct client exposure from the outset, with the opportunity to take ownership of matters, build relationships and develop a particular specialism within Energy & Infrastructure Finance.
