Job summary

BJF Group is seeking a Fabric Engineer to join their expanding construction team. The role involves maintaining properties and delivering daily projects for the MOD Estates in Wiltshire. Candidates should possess a variety of fabrication skills, adhere to safety protocols, and provide high standards of client service.

Qualifications

At BJF, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our expanding construction-focused business, supporting the Facilities Management Team as a Fabric Engineer.

Position

Joining a friendly and dedicated projects team, the successful candidate will work with the Southwest Fabric project team to deliver projects on a daily basis, ranging from minor refurbishments to clients’ properties within the MOD Estates in Wiltshire.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining the site in good decorative order internally and externally, providing specifications, and ensuring timely completion of project works.
  • Adhering to all Health and Safety protocols relevant to work activities.
  • Proactively promoting Health & Safety in the work environment and taking steps to mitigate risks.
  • Providing high standards of customer care in a client-facing role.
  • Being flexible and undertaking other duties as required to meet operational needs.
Requirements

What you'll bring:

  • Experience as a multitask fabrication technician, including general building fabric repairs, painting & decorating, bricklaying, slabbing, fencing, concreting, tiling, plastering, and kitchen installations.
  • Experience in timber and UPVC door and window installations, along with general carpentry repairs.
  • Basic plumbing skills.
  • MEWP and PASMA qualifications are preferable.
  • City and Guilds qualification in a relevant field.
  • Ability to assess repairs and complete work with minimal guidance.
