Estimating Manager Warwick, Warwickshire, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

Reporting to the Director of Rail, the Estimating Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate and competitive cost estimates for new projects and schemes within the designated business sector. You will collaborate closely with project management and engineering teams to ensure all aspects of the project are considered and accurately costed.

This role is hybrid, requiring occasional presence at our Warwick Head office.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the production and submission of accurate, comprehensive estimates for projects in a timely manner
  • Control and manage the estimating process at bid, project, or scheme level
  • Challenge cost estimates produced by SMEs in Delivery and Engineering
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates
  • Minimize selling costs and response times through standard processes and pricing tools
  • Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and pricing proposals during cost reviews
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers on project plans and schedules
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, etc., to gather necessary information

Who you are:

You have proven experience in a similar estimating role, with a strong foundation in cost modeling and analysis. You are an expert in Excel, combining technical proficiency with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to facilitate accurate decision-making.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in Transport, Utilities, Telecoms, Construction, or similar industries, providing estimating services in large projects or multiple workstreams
  • Expertise in Excel
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in office, site, and client/sub-contractor environments
  • Full clean driving license with flexibility to be in HQ as required
