Estimating Manager Warwick, Warwickshire, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

Reporting to the Director of Rail, the Estimating Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate and competitive cost estimates for new projects and schemes in the designated business sector. You will collaborate closely with project management and engineering teams to ensure all aspects of the project are considered and accurately costed.

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with occasional requirements to be at our Warwick Head office.

What you’ll do:

• Support the production and submission of accurate and comprehensive estimates for projects in a timely manner.
• Control and manage the estimating process at bid, project, or scheme level.
• Challenge cost estimates produced by SMEs in Delivery and Engineering.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to assist in preparing detailed cost estimates.
• Minimize the cost of selling and response time through standard processes and pricing tools where appropriate.
• Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and pricing proposals during cost reviews.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop comprehensive project plans and schedules.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, etc., to gather necessary information.

Who you are:

You will have proven experience in a similar estimating role, with a strong foundation in cost modeling and analysis. As an expert Excel user, you will combine technical proficiency with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to facilitate accurate and informed decision-making.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in Transport, Utilities, Telecoms, Construction, or similar industries, providing estimating services in large projects or multiple workstreams.
• Expertise in Excel.
• Excellent mathematical skills.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in office, site, and client/sub-contractor environments.
• Full clean driving license with flexibility to be at HQ as required.
