Qualifications

Project Engineering Manager
Based - Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 6PH
Salary £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience
Working hours - Monday - Friday, 39 hours per week
We are recruiting for a Project Engineering Manager to join our established Engineering department at our Mr Kipling bakery in Stoke-on-Trent, where we make the nation's favourite Mr Kipling cakes.

What you will be doing:

  • Development of pipeline of suitable projects, including feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis
  • Lead compilation of capital authority request documentation and narrative
  • Engage end users in developing engineering scope
  • Develop functional design specifications in compliance with engineering & Premier specifications
  • Select preferred suppliers through robust processes, including applying appropriate contracts
  • Manage health and safety aspects of capital projects (e.g., CDM requirements)
  • Report project progress, track milestones, activities, priorities, and financials
  • Ensure compliance at pre-delivery milestones to user acceptance test protocols
  • Manage key resources through to project delivery
  • Handle post-delivery processes such as installation, commissioning, and training

What we need from you:

  • An Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of Food/FMCG experience
  • Extensive capital project management experience with a customer focus
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., IEE 17th Edition, DSEAR)
  • Proven success in delivering engineering capital projects in FMCG
  • Proficient with CAD and MS Project
  • Experience with control system and PLC design/specifications
  • Strong knowledge of Rockwell/Allen Bradley control systems
