Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience

Working hours: Monday - Friday, 39 hours per week

We are recruiting for a Project Engineering Manager to join our established Engineering department at our Mr Kipling bakery in Stoke on Trent, where we make the nation's favourite Mr Kipling cakes.

What you will be doing:

  • Development of a pipeline of suitable projects, including feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Lead the compilation of capital authority request documentation and narratives.
  • Engage end users in developing engineering scope.
  • Develop functional design specifications in compliance with engineering and Premier specifications.
  • Select preferred suppliers through a robust process, including appropriate contracts.
  • Manage all health and safety aspects of capital projects (e.g., CDM requirements).
  • Report project progress, track milestones, activities, priorities, and financials.
  • Ensure compliance at pre-delivery milestones and user acceptance test protocols.
  • Manage key resources through to project delivery.
  • Oversee post-delivery processes, including installation, commissioning, and training.

What we need from you:

  • An Engineering Degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Food/FMCG sectors.
  • Extensive capital project management experience with a customer focus.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., IEE 17th Edition, DSEAR).
  • Proven success in delivering engineering capital projects in FMCG, with emphasis on specification, integration, and implementation.
  • Proficiency in CAD and MS Project.
  • Experience in control system and PLC design/specifications.
  • Strong working knowledge of Rockwell/Allen Bradley control systems.
