We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Project Lead Engineer to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects on a large deployable infrastructure defence programme. The role would suit a technically proficient leader who thrives in leading multi-disciplinary teams and excels in driving results.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development team to ensure most cost-effective solutions are developed, which are safe to use and compliant with requirements and statutory legislation.
  • Define and manage engineering work packages to drive delivery to schedule and budget, and report progress to senior management.
  • Lead engagement with the engineering team and customers, and develop strong working relationships.
  • Ensure pragmatic and best-practice Systems Engineering techniques are adopted through development to acceptance.
  • Promote and uphold the company values and procedures.
  • Promote and adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental best practices.
  • Work to standards, processes, and procedures to ensure rigour, resilience, and continuous improvement.
  • Define and manage product requirements throughout the development and delivery lifecycle.
  • Manage product configuration and change control.
  • Ensure lessons learned and best practices are shared across the business to support continuous improvement and consistency.
  • Act promptly and mobilise internal resources and teams to resolve issues.
  • Identify development needs and opportunities of team members and provide coaching/training to develop technical capability.
  • Challenge the status quo, bring new ideas to improve engineering quality, productivity, and timeliness of delivery.

  • Sound understanding of engineering principles.
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with energy and enthusiasm to all levels within and outside of the business.
  • The ability to apply your skills and knowledge across a wide and diverse range of projects.
  • Ideally qualified to degree level in Engineering with relevant and sufficient experience in the field.
  • Market aware with a good understanding of the market in which Marshall operates, including competitors, suppliers, customers, and regulatory organisations.
  • Experienced in planning and delivering large and complex tasks to schedule and budget demonstrating effective time management across many projects and priorities.
  • Proven experience of supporting team members to deliver and develop through coaching and guidance.
  • Sound understanding of product safety, standards, and technical risk management.
