Job Title: Project Engineering Lead

At Leonardo, we have a fantastic new opportunity for a Project Engineering Lead within our Land Communications Integrated Project Team (IPT), part of the Comms and Force Protection Business Area within Integrated Sensing and Protection.

Overview: The IPT handles diverse and exciting projects, including core products in service worldwide, technology demonstrators, and research projects. Products range from soldier radios to world-leading force protection systems, all designed and manufactured within Leonardo following a full engineering lifecycle. This role offers a chance to work at the forefront of technology across a broad spectrum of projects.

Responsibilities:

• Manage total engineering activities on a project or portfolio, leading cross-disciplinary teams.
• Ensure solutions meet customer technical, contractual, and legislative requirements.
• Plan and manage engineering efforts in terms of performance, schedule, and cost, in collaboration with Project Managers.
• Contribute to engineering governance through status reports and build relationships with Engineering Functional Leads for resource planning.
• Participate in business-winning activities, including cost collection, planning, and bid reviews.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Degree in an engineering-related subject (essential).
• Experience managing or leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams (essential).
• Strong understanding of engineering lifecycles and processes (essential).
• Desirable: knowledge of RF and equipment design, manufacturing processes, and defence industry experience.
