Job description

Role: Project Engineer

Salary range: depending on experience

Vikoma is a world leading environmental business. We design and manufacture oil spill response and oil recovery equipment. Our expert team of 60 supports an international market from our Isle of Wight based facility.

We are looking for a Project Engineer to support current and up-coming projects for our worldwide customer base. Our plans for continuous growth and development mean that we recruit the best and brightest talents in the business.

We can offer you a permanent contract working a 38 hour week at our offices in East Cowes.

Role & Responsibilities: Working as part of an Engineering/design team, your key responsibilities are:

Assist the Engineering Manager in delivering projects on time, provide regular feedback to the Engineering Manager regarding progress versus Project Plan, Review specifications and documentation requirements and standards and liaise with the Engineering team to implement compliant solution, with Design for Manufacture a key driver.

Support Project Schedules to address the design, documentation, and development requirements.

Prepare Project Documentation, provide Engineering with support and liaise with Projects Teams as necessary

In conjunction with the Procurement Team, obtain quotations from suppliers & sub-contractors.

Where necessary provide relevant technical support to client and other Stakeholders

Instigate and attend project meeting with and other key Stakeholders

Desirable Knowledge & Skills:

Professional qualification in Engineering or Project Management

Attention to detail, especially where document management and controls are concerned

Proven experience in a comparable role preferably within an engineering environment

Proven ability to liaise and coordinate cross-functional teams in a project management and engineering orientated environments.

Proven experience of delivering projects to schedule, budget and quality.

Experience of working in a Manufacturing environment

Experience/knowledge of AutoCAD, Inventor, or other 2D/3D CAD packages desirable as drawing submissions form part of this role.

Qualifications: ONC/HNC/HND/BSc in an Engineering Discipline desirable but suitable related experience considered.
