Project Engineer - SolidWorks (Permanent, Full-Time)
Salary: Circa 42,500 DOE
Location: In office at Kidderminster
We are supporting a leading manufacturer of high-performance filtration, separation, and pressure vessel equipment, serving industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, and water treatment. The company specializes in precision manufacturing and technical expertise to deliver bespoke and standard solutions that meet global standards and regulations.
They seek an experienced Project Engineer to deliver compliant, cost-effective design solutions, managing projects from handover to completion. Responsibilities include stakeholder coordination, product development using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, and mentoring junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support junior engineering staff, including draughtspersons and trainees, liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing quotation drawings and technical documentation.
- Contribute to new product and equipment development, including creating standard 3D models and component libraries.
- Produce cost-effective, standardized design solutions, including general arrangement drawings, manufacturing drawings, technical specifications, and 3D models for estimation and layout.
- Ensure all designs meet Health & Safety standards and comply with relevant codes and legislation (e.g., ASME VIII, ASME B31.3, PED 2014/68/EU).
- Perform design verification using engineering calculations and analysis tools such as FEA and CFD.
- Prepare accurate material requisitions, referencing internal part numbers and using standard components.
- Manage projects from sales handover to delivery, including task delegation, resource planning, and coordination with relevant departments.
Experiences Required
- Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and SolidWorks (3D) or similar software (e.g., Solid Edge, Inventor, Fusion 360, CATIA, Creo).
- Strong background in creating detailed fabrication drawings for manufacturing (DFM).
- Proven experience in pressure vessel design or similar, such as industrial heat exchangers.
- Familiarity with ASME pressure vessel codes (e.g., ASME VIII) is preferred.
- Experience with FEA and CFD analysis tools is advantageous.
- Background in the Oil & Gas sector is desirable.

- 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, early finish on Fridays.
