Laing O'Rourke (Expanded) is recruiting a Project Engineer for the Monklands Hospital Replacement Project, based initially in Glasgow and then moving to Airdrie.

This project involves delivering Scotland's first fully digital and net zero carbon hospital, offering significant benefits for healthcare, the economy, and the local community across Lanarkshire and Scotland.

Known terms: Site Agent / Project Manager

The Expanded Group provides comprehensive early construction services for major projects, including design, engineering, piling, precast concrete, post-tensioning, and structures.

Role & Responsibilities

1. Utilize Digital Engineering models to create Visual Method Statements and Visual Task sheets, demonstrating confidence in team collaboration.
2. Implement and ensure compliance with LOR Temporary Works procedures, explaining these procedures to team members.
3. Determine appropriate methods of dimensional control, consulting specialists as needed, and ensure control of setting out data.
4. Interrogate and transfer setting out data from 3D CAD models.
5. Define scope and format of as-built surveys and reports to demonstrate compliance.
6. Produce and ensure availability of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), addressing specifications and contractual obligations.
7. Adhere to project and company quality procedures.
8. Recommend best engineering methods and possess design process knowledge.
9. Produce and approve method statements and risk assessments.
10. Manage procurement processes.
11. Manage a team of Senior Engineers, depending on the project.

Requirements

1. Degree in Civil Engineering or recognized technical qualification (HNC, HND, NVQ level 4) with experience in construction delivery.
2. Approximately 8 years' experience in Civil Engineering.
3. Experience with structures.
4. Eligible to work in the UK / valid UK visa.
