Job Title: Project Engineer
Summary:
The Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing project delivery, ensuring site works are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. This role involves managing subcontractors, liaising with the supply chain, and supporting the Project Manager for successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination:
- Review contract documents, project plans, and specifications.
- Coordinate with departments and stakeholders to meet project milestones.
- Assist in scheduling review meetings focusing on contract terms, cost, scope, and timelines.
- Report project status, issues, and solutions to the Project Manager.
- Communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders.
- Project Management Support:
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Monitor contract variations and report changes.
- Prepare progress reports and maintain documentation.
- Manage project budgets and forecast delivery.
- Support warranty management and mitigate claims.
- Supervise subcontractors and supply chain, ensuring compliance.
- Assist in developing the Construction Phase Plan.
- Oversee site mobilization and inductions.
- Review RAMS and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Manage logistics and site operations for timely material delivery.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and safety rules.
- Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience in engineering or project management, especially in construction or infrastructure.
- Familiarity with NEC contract conditions.
- CSR Gold Card and First Aid at Work certification.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong communication skills for interacting with technical and commercial stakeholders.
- Proficiency with MS Office, Project, and ERP systems.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Attention to detail and compliance focus.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes (advantageous).
- CAD experience (preferred but not essential).
- Travel & Flexibility:
- Travel within Northern Ireland for site visits.
- Occasional overnight stays with prior planning.
- Role involves both office and site work, with accommodations for disabilities.
