Job summary

Get Staff is seeking a Project Engineer to take technical ownership of integrated security projects across the North West and Yorkshire. You will drive installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning, while coordinating with project managers and subcontractors to ensure on-time delivery.

The role covers CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarms, with manufacturer training and a company vehicle where appropriate. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as Commissioning Engineer or Project Engineer in electronic security.
• Strong hands-on experience with integrated security systems.
• Ability to take technical ownership from installation through to completion.
• Experience with system configuration, testing and commissioning.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Detection and Intercom Systems.
• Experience with integrated security management systems.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of projects from handover through to completion.
• Support pre-start planning, installation, configuration, testing and commissioning.
• Work with Project Managers, engineers and subcontractors to ensure delivery.
• Carry out system configuration, testing and commissioning.
• Ensure projects are fully completed and handed over to clients and Service team.
• Travel as required across Yorkshire, North of the UK and other locations.

Project Engineer – Integrated Security Systems- North West/Yorkshire- £40,000-£44,000

• £40,000–£44,000 basic salary
• Covering the North West and Yorkshire
• Door to door travel paid
• Overtime available at 1.5x / 2x, depending on the time and day worked
• Monday–Friday, 40-hour contracted week
• 24 days holiday + bank holidays

Project Engineer Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer or Project Engineer to take technical ownership of integrated security projects from start to finish.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to become more involved in the complete project lifecycle while remaining technically hands‑on.

Project Engineer Role & Responsibilities

• Taking technical ownership of projects from handover through to completion.
• Supporting pre‑start planning, installation, configuration, testing and commissioning.
• Working closely with Project Managers, engineers and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
• Carrying out system configuration, testing and commissioning.
• Ensuring projects are fully completed, documented and successfully handed over to clients and the Service team.
• Working across a broad range of integrated electronic security technologies, including, CCTV, Access Control & Intruder Alarms.
• Working with leading manufacturers and platforms including Hanwha, Wisenet, Axis, Milestone, CEM, Kantech, Honeywell Galaxy, Comelit, Advancis, 2N and more.
• Travelling across Yorkshire, the North of the UK and other UK locations as required.

Project Engineer Skills and Experience

• Experience working as a Commissioning Engineer or Project Engineer within the electronic security industry.
• Strong hands‑on experience with integrated security systems.
• Ability to take technical ownership of projects from installation through to completion.
• Experience with system configuration, testing and commissioning.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault‑finding skills.
• Knowledge of CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Detection and Intercom Systems.
• Experience working with integrated security management systems.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and project documentation.
• Confident working closely with Project Managers, engineers, subcontractors and clients.
• Willingness to travel across Yorkshire, the North of the UK and other UK locations when required.
• Full UK driving licence
