Join our Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick team as a Project Engineer at Sellafield, Seascale, and you'll deliver complex work that really matters to our business and the world around you.

Role Purpose:
  • Assist the Project Manager and Engineering team with the planning and daily execution of the construction project.
  • Maintain aspects of the project schedule as assigned by the Project Manager, managing submittal approvals, coordinating timely delivery of materials, and maintaining schedules and budgets.

What you'll be doing:
  • Ensure packages are delivered on time, within budget, and meet safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure packages comply with good design practice and relevant technical standards.
  • Execute packages with minimal rework.
  • Keep accurate and complete records according to the mechanical control sheet, including TQ's, WPP's, ITPs, Record Drawings, and other project documentation.
  • Maintain communication/deliverables, ensuring document control sheets are updated and relevant team members are informed of potential impacts.
  • Update communication trackers across platforms.
  • Plan and organize plant, access, labor, and materials, including procurement activities relevant to a package.
  • Produce/review WPP and ITP for activities, ensuring quality assurance mechanisms are in place four weeks prior to work start.
  • Provide technical input for Scope of Work (SoW) in accordance with QS, suitable for an ITT, and identify project delivery risks, raising EWNs as needed.
  • Monitor supply chain performance against planned activities and escalate issues to achieve targets.
  • Draft site instructions for review and issue by the Project Management team, detailing works, location, program impact, cost impact, and referencing change events.

Who we're looking for:
  • Achieved or working towards an HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Piping.
  • APM qualification is beneficial.
  • SMSTS / IOSH qualified.
  • Experience in engineering works within a nuclear environment.
  • Experience managing installation of environmental monitoring equipment.
  • Ability to obtain security clearances.
  • High integrity and focus on exceeding customer expectations.
