Job Description

Are you a hands-on engineer with a passion for rail innovation and systems integration? We’re working confidentially with a leading global rail organisation on a high-profile new train introduction programme. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge rolling stock development and shape the future of rail transport.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead the construction and testing of cab mock-ups, collaborating with Human Factors experts and stakeholders.
  • Manage cab crash testing activities with internal and external specialists.
  • Oversee procurement and integration of components for a Systems Integration Facility.
  • Accelerate and manage the review of supplier documentation (e.g., brake technical descriptions, FTAs, fire certificates).
  • Conduct first-pass reviews of technical documentation.
  • Critically assess and manage project schedules, ensuring alignment with broader programme timelines.
Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in new train introduction and train design, particularly on the left side of the V-cycle.
  • Strong understanding of multiple train systems (e.g., brakes, traction).
  • Hands-on engineers at any level (junior to senior) who can deliver and drive progress.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexibly across sites.
