Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Project Engineer in Canada with a strong background in transportation engineering. The role involves leading design development, preparing technical specifications, and coordinating with clients and subconsultants to deliver complex projects from planning through construction.

8+ years of experience and a Professional Engineer licence in Alberta (or eligible) are preferred. Hybrid work is available, with in-office collaboration and field work as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering and project implementation for transportation facilities.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer in Alberta (or eligible for licensing).
• Experience with geometric design of highways, streets, rural roads; drainage design or construction administration is a plus.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads and/or OpenRoads software is a plus.
• Experience with cost estimating, tender preparation, and contract administration on transportation projects.
• Ability to manage projects and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.

Job description

our Alberta offices. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can work in a team environment and want to be involved in exciting local, regional, and national projects. The successful candidate will work directly with senior project managers and design teams to delivery our current and future projects.Opportunity provides for a hybrid work environment. In office presence is expected based on project needs, client meetings, and team collaboration

Your Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of design plans and assist with preparation of technical specifications and quantity estimates as required.
• Prepare engineering reports and technical studies.
• Experience preparing grading and surfacing designs with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors is an asset.
• Provide experienced and skilled engineering and management of various transportation projects from initiation of planning through construction.
• Coordination with client project managers and design teams including subconsultants for effective project delivery.
• Working with other transportation staff and departments to complete projects.
• Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• A minimum of 8 years' experience in engineering and project implementation with experience in the design of transportation-related facilities.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Alberta (or eligible for licensing).
• Experience in geometric design of provincial highways, streets and rural roads; drainage design or construction administration is an asset.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads and/or OpenRoads software is an asset
