Do you have a passion for transport and the connections that bring our cities and communities together? Are you motivated by the challenge of balancing the social and economic benefits of transport with the need to reduce our environmental impact? Do you enjoy leading, motivating and engaging teams to innovate and deliver solutions to complex engineering challenges?
If so, we’d love you to join us at Stantec.
We’re looking for an experienced Principal Engineer to join our growing Scottish Roads and Infrastructure team, based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow. You’ll be a senior technical professional, playing a key role in the delivery of a diverse range of projects within a close-knit, supportive and collaborative team.
Working alongside specialists from across our business, you’ll help develop and deliver innovative engineering solutions for our clients, contributing to projects that make a meaningful difference to the places where people live, work and travel.
With a strong workload, an expanding project portfolio and exciting growth plans for both our Roads and Infrastructure team and the wider business, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your career while helping shape the future of transport infrastructure across Scotland and the UK.
You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering services to a varied client base, including Local Authorities and Design and Build Contractors. Our portfolio spans a broad range of roads and active travel projects, from smaller-scale local improvements through to major national strategic schemes and frameworks.
As a Principal Engineer, you’ll lead the technical delivery of projects, working closely with clients to influence and shape the development of engineering schemes across the region. You’ll also collaborate with teams throughout the UK, supporting the delivery of projects for clients of all sizes and contributing to our wider integrated transport offering.
Alongside your technical responsibilities, you’ll take an active role in developing others, leading, supervising and mentoring junior engineers and apprentices to help them produce high-quality work and reach their potential.
With our continued growth, you’ll also have opportunities to broaden your experience, take on new challenges and progress your own career within Stantec.
Our Scottish offices are located in the heart of Edinburgh and Glasgow, offering welcoming and collaborative working environments, alongside hybrid and flexible working options.
Stantec’s integrated transport team operates across the whole of the UK, bringing together expertise from multiple disciplines to deliver effective solutions for our clients. With exciting projects, a strong pipeline of work and ambitious plans for the future, there has never been a better time to join us.
You’ll be an experienced roads and infrastructure professional with a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions and the leadership skills to support and develop others.
Above all, you’ll be passionate about delivering quality infrastructure design solutions and enthusiastic about contributing to projects that balance the needs of communities, the economy and the environment.
