Job summary

Yolk Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Project Engineer to own process engineering projects from design through installation and commissioning in Somerset.

You will work on process systems, including pumps, valves, pipework and controls, coordinating with customers to meet technical requirements. The role combines design, project management and hands-on problem solving, with travel to customer sites as needed and regular office-based work in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Chemical, Process, Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience as Project Engineer, Process Engineer or Mechanical Project Engineer on industrial plant/process equipment.
• Ability to interpret drawings, P&IDs and specifications.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software.

Responsibilities

• Managing engineering projects from initial scope and design through to manufacture, installation and commissioning.
• Working with customers to establish technical requirements, specifications and project deliverables.
• Developing and coordinating engineering designs, drawings, specifications and bills of materials.
• Working with process equipment including pumps, valves, pipework, filtration systems, dosing equipment and associated controls.
• Reviewing technical drawings, process schematics and P&IDs.
• Preparing project schedules, budgets, resource plans and installation programmes.
• Coordinating internal engineering teams, workshop personnel, contractors and suppliers.
• Monitoring project costs, progress and risks to ensure successful delivery.
• Providing technical support throughout manufacturing, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Managing design changes, resolving technical challenges and maintaining communication with customers.
• Ensuring projects meet relevant quality, safety and regulatory standards.
• Supporting final commissioning, documentation and customer handover.
