Project Engineer – Primary Equipment, High-Voltage Transmission Systems

A snapshot of your day:

The projects are mainly offshore wind farms and interconnectors to the National Grids in the UK and increasingly overseas.

How you’ll make an impact:

  1. Accountable for the delivery of the ‘Primary Equipment’ project scope to budget, safety, quality, performance, and schedule requirements.
  2. Coordinate between all Primary design, test, and manufacture functions to produce a robust and reliable electrical design and engineering package, associated engineering drawings, hardware delivery, and manage site installation, cabling, and commissioning works.
  3. Responsible for the preparation of offers and project management delivery of all project-related primary and auxiliary electrical systems regarding schedule, cost, quality, and safety.
  4. Technical management of the transmission equipment offer/order processing team with close coordination with project management, project leads, and experts from various fields.
  5. Planning, monitoring, and controlling the offer/order processing including technical conception, delimitation of the scope of delivery, scheduling/resource planning, costing, calculation, quality control, and management of opportunities and risks.
  6. Reporting, information management, revision, and order completion as well as implementation of process and design reviews.
  7. Be flexible in workplace location; during the design phase office-based, procurement phase involves travel to supplier or customer premises, and in the installation phase mostly site-based.

What you bring:

  1. University degree in electrical engineering, electrical power engineering or comparable with a standard duration of > 3 years.
  2. Some post-graduate professional experience as well as experience in project management.
  3. Technically knowledgeable and experienced in the areas of high voltage transmission equipment and auxiliary systems.
  4. Extensive knowledge in dealing with MS Office applications and PM tools.
  5. Business fluent communication in English, with German optional.
  6. Intercultural experience is ideal as well as willingness to go on business trips (customer clarification, IBS support).
