Project Engineer (Nuclear)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and guidance to the site team, interpreting drawings, specifications, and design information.
  • Quality Assurance: Assist in implementing and monitoring quality control procedures, ensuring works are completed to the highest standards and in accordance with project specifications and regulations.
  • Programme Management: Support the Project Manager in developing, monitoring, and updating project programmes, identifying potential delays and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Liaise with subcontractors, ensuring their works align with the project programme and technical requirements.
  • Health & Safety: Promote and adhere to strict health and safety standards on site, conducting regular inspections and contributing to risk assessments.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve technical issues and challenges that arise during the construction process.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports for the Project Manager, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and upcoming activities.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Contribute to effective communication with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders as required.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of proven experience as a Project Engineer or Site Engineer on construction projects in the UK.
  • Experience & understanding of passive fire protection and fire stopping systems is desirable but not required.
  • Solid understanding of construction methods, techniques, and regulations.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with project programming software (e.g., Primavera P6) is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
  • CSCS card holder (or equivalent).
  • Holder or ability to obtain & hold SC (or above) clearance is required.
