Project Engineer (Manufacturing)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to join a global leader in advanced subsea and offshore technology, based in North Yorkshire. This facility specialises in the design and manufacture of world-class Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), trenchers, and submarine rescue systems, delivering innovative solutions for challenging deep-water operations.
The Role:
You will manage engineering projects from concept to manufacturing handover, producing high-quality designs and technical documentation in line with ISO 9001 standards. Working closely with colleagues across engineering, production, logistics, and sales, you’ll provide technical expertise, customer support, and contribute to product development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage design projects from enquiry through to completion
* Produce engineering designs, specifications, and documentation
* Provide technical support to production, logistics, and integration teams
* Assist with sales proposals and customer training
* Ensure designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements
* Mentor and guide junior engineering staff
About You:
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
* Proven technical skills in control systems, hydraulics, and electrical design
* Proficiency in AutoCAD/DraftSight and SolidWorks
* Strong understanding of manufacturing techniques and material science for subsea applications
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
* Safety-conscious and attentive to quality standards (ISO 9001)
* Experience in an engineering design environment
* Hands-on manufacturing or offshore experience
