Exciting new contract for a Project Engineering Manager. Working for a market leader in technology.

Project: Engineering Manager (Contract)

Contract Dates: 01/08/2025 – 28/02/2026

Location: Derby

Outside Scope Rate: Competitive

Role Definition: Working as part of a Freight ETCS project, the Project Engineering Manager will provide direction to the Project Engineers within the Engineering team. The Freight ETCS project supports the rollout of ETCS to the UK Freight Fleet across various UK locomotives. The project includes stages such as design, first-in-class installation, fleet production, and type testing.

Specific Qualifications and Experience:

  • Essential:
    • Deep practical knowledge and experience in design and installation of train systems, typically ETCS, TPWS, AWS, GSM-R, Wi-Fi, CCTV, and DAS.
    • Understanding of the approvals process for modifying a train and returning it to service.
    • Experience working to industry quality and safety standards.
    • Willingness and ability to work from Derby 3 days per week, with flexibility to travel to fitment partner locations in the Midlands.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of Freight Locomotives.
  • Knowledge of implementing ETCS and/or CBTC systems and GSM-R systems.
