Job summary

City of York Council is seeking a Project Engineer in Highway Maintenance to join the Highways Basic Maintenance Team. You will bring technical highway and civil engineering experience to support asset management and delivery of small works schemes.

Ideally you will have AutoCAD and Civil Engineering design experience, but training and support will be provided for the right candidate. This role offers development opportunities and flexible working practices within a supportive council

City of York Council are excited to announce that they are seeking a Project Engineer in Highway Maintenance.

This role will be based within the Highways Basic Maintenance Team within City of York Council this key role is to add technical highway and civil engineering experience to the highway asset management team.

The team is focussed on maintenance, re-construction and improvement of highway infrastructure assets. It will involve helping highways managers, inspectors and operational staff to deliver Capital and Revenue small works orders and minor works schemes.

This person will be problem solver, team player and have an ability to work under their own initiative. Ideally having AutoCAD, and Civil Engineering design experience, but not essential as training and support will be given to the right candidate.
