Overview

Project Engineer - £33,000-£37,000
Location: Limavady, Northern Ireland (with occasional travel to mainland UK)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Hybrid working after completion of probation

The Opportunity

Our client is looking for a hands-on Project Engineer with around 2-3 years' practical experience to plan, resource and deliver a variety of engineering projects. You'll be working on bespoke equipment and control systems for the water and energy sectors taking each project from planning through to client handover.

This is a great chance to join a growing team where you'll get exposure to every stage of project delivery and travel occasionally across the UK to meet project needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare project plans and budgets and track milestones to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Source suppliers and purchase equipment in line with engineering specifications and company procedures.
  • Coordinate and distribute technical documentation and drawings to subcontractors.
  • Visit subcontractor sites to review production, ensure quality checks and clear snags before handover.
  • Manage FAT tests, site preparation activities and commissioning, including health & safety documentation and client handover.
  • Cooperate and communicate with clients and project participants, providing solutions and regular progress updates.
  • Oversee contract management activities such as compensation events and quotations.
  • Provide financial reporting on project costs and invoicing.
  • Manage on-site health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
About You

Essential:

  • Minimum 2:2 Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline (mechanical or similar).
  • Around 2-3 years' post-graduate experience in a project engineering role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence and access to a car
  • Willing to travel occasionally across the UK (with overnight stays when required).

Desirable:

  • Experience in the water or wastewater industry.
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts.
  • Experience working in a fabrication environment.
