Job summary

Careys is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our team delivering a major Energy from Waste civils project in Middlesbrough. This role offers real responsibility within a complex and technical environment, working alongside engineers, construction teams and project leadership to drive delivery.

You will coordinate site activities, manage setting out and information, monitor progress against programme and budget, and help manage procurement and risks while upholding health, safety and

Qualifications

• Experience on major civils, energy & infrastructure projects.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Confident communicator across multidisciplinary teams.
• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or similar).
• SMSTS and TWC certifications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating site engineering activities and liaising with clients, designers, and subcontractors.
• Managing technical compliance, setting out, and construction information.
• Monitoring progress against programme, cost, and quality targets.
• Supporting procurement, logistics, and material management.
• Identifying and mitigating project risks.
• Ensuring health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
