Job summary

Latitude Recruitment is supporting an engineering business near Southampton with the appointment of a Project Engineer. The role covers turning customer and project requirements into practical engineering solutions, from concept through installation and commissioning, working with engineering, manufacturing, design and project teams.

You will collaborate with procurement for budgets, communicate across disciplines, and balance technical quality with project constraints.

Qualifications

• Applicants should bring relevant project or engineering experience and the technical ability to contribute to design and delivery activities.
• Experience using CAD software is required, particularly Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks.
• Exposure to data acquisition, instrumentation or calibration would be valuable, and an understanding of how engineering components and systems are manufactured, installed and commissioned.
• The successful candidate will be organised, practical and comfortable working collaboratively.
• You should be able to interpret technical requirements, develop engineering concepts and communicate your ideas to colleagues and stakeholders.
• A methodical approach to problem-solving, attention to detail and balancing technical considerations with budgets will be important.
• Applicants should be willing to support work across the complete project lifecycle, including installation and commissioning activities where required.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to support project delivery and ensure designs are suitable for production and implementation.
• Contribute to the development of engineering concepts and translate project needs into workable technical solutions.
• Coordinate with design and project colleagues, maintaining alignment between technical work and project objectives.
• Support installation and commissioning activities and provide input to budgeting and procurement decisions.
• Contribute throughout the project lifecycle and communicate progress to the team.
