My client is seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer (Electrical) to join their dynamic Renewables division. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of remote work combined with on-site responsibilities in Aberdeen and Kirkwall. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and management of electrical systems for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and contributing to our mission of sustainable energy development.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Electrical Systems Manager to plan, design, and execute electrical engineering projects
Develop and review electrical schematics, diagrams, and layouts for renewable energy systems
Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and technical evaluations to support project development
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems
Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical equipment and systems at project sites
Provide technical support and guidance to subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety and sustainability
Prepare and present technical reports, documentation, and project updates to internal and external stakeholders
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in renewable energy and electrical engineering
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification or equivalent (preferred)
Proven experience in electrical engineering within the renewable energy sector
Strong knowledge of electrical design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP)
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects
Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively
Willingness to travel to project sites in Aberdeen, Kirkwall, and other locations as required
