Job summary

Galliford Try Group is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join our Environment team on AMP 8 Severn Trent projects. The role is predominantly site-based with occasional hybrid working, covering Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire.

You will report to the Project Manager and contribute to design coordination, subcontractor management, and on-site construction support while upholding safety and sustainability standards.

Qualifications

  • Recognised electrical engineering qualifications and relevant industry experience.
  • Knowledge of NEC 4 contracts and sustainable development principles.
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations, current legislation, QA, and Health & Safety procedures.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset.
  • A proactive, flexible, and team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

  • Be an integral part of our Project Delivery team, working alongside internal and external multi-discipline designers and Project Engineers (Civils, Process, Structural, Electrical & Mechanical Design).
  • Managing subcontractors during site investigations, design, and construction stages.
  • Producing construction-stage documentation and securing necessary permits and approvals.
  • Participating in design and progress meetings and mentoring junior team members.
  • Ensuring project compliance using our Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Driving safety and collaboration in line with our Health, Safety and Environment culture.

An opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Project Engineer to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business.

You will work on our Severn Trent AMP 8 Water Framework within our Environment Business, who are experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across both Wastewater Treatment and Water schemes.

Ideally, you will be based in or around the Annesley area as the team delivering these schemes work across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire. The expectation is for you to be site based with occasional hybrid working and travel to company offices when required.

What you will be doing

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Project Engineer to join our collaborative team on AMP 8 Severn Trent. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a vital role in project delivery-from initial surveys and investigations to managing design and supporting on-site construction. Your focus will be on ensuring seamless electrical project execution, stakeholder coordination, and driving quality outcomes

You will:

You’re a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer, with a passion for delivering infrastructure projects and a clear commitment to sustainability and safety.

To be successful, you will have:
