Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Engineering, development, integration, and validation of various electrical modules (ECUs, Sensors, Actuators, etc.) into the vehicle electrical architecture in collaboration with functional departments, technical partners, and Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Work as key owner for electrical modules such as Central Compute Unit, Zonal Controllers, Body Electrical Components, Autonomous Drive/ADAS components, Passive Safety Components, Body Security Components, Antenna System Components, and Power Supplies.
  • Develop and maintain requirements specifications, timing plans, and validation requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Guide EDS and Packaging teams to ensure correct location and packaging of control units, modules, and peripherals.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, legislative, electrical, environmental, and EMC requirements.
  • Lead system reviews, verification, and validation activities including FMEAs, test planning, and functionality tests.
  • Represent the Electrical Department in meetings and external working groups.
  • Identify and resolve faults, manage issues through the 8D process, and handle concessions and escalations.
  • Manage suppliers and coordinate with Procurement, Logistics, and Quality teams.
  • Provide support and training to Manufacturing and Service departments.
  • Manage commodity attributes like Quality, Costs, Timing, and Weight, ensuring delivery within budget.
  • Oversee third-party suppliers during prototype and development builds.
  • Participate in system reviews, verification, validation, and sign-offs such as DFMEA, DVP&R, PV, and Engineering Sign-off.
  • Support design reviews, FMEAs, and supplier management activities.
  • Support prototype and test rig builds, collaborating with departments like Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Logistics.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Understanding of automotive new product development processes and milestones.
  • Experience with automotive electrical components' design, development, and manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, ECUs, and wiring components.
  • Deep understanding of electrical systems, software features, architectures, and integration.
  • Working knowledge of CAN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet, LIN, and diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with homologation standards, ISO, EuroNCAP, functional safety, and cybersecurity.
  • Experience in electrical and EMC performance design, with contacts in the automotive ecosystem.
  • Knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicle architectures is advantageous.
  • Experience with CATIA V5/V6 or similar visualization tools.
  • Strong understanding of 2D drawings and electrical circuits.
  • Experience managing engineering change requests and design releases.
  • Experience with APQP, Six Sigma, FMEA, PPAP, etc.
  • Leadership in DFMEA and system reviews.
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards, harness testing, validation, and engineering sign-off.
  • Proficiency with engineering tools and platforms like Microsoft Office.
