Job Description
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop project objectives by reviewing proposals and plans; collaborate with management.
- Coordinate procurement and site activities.
- Prepare project status reports, analyze data, and recommend actions.
- Support the management team.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing safety procedures.
- Perform other reasonable duties as required.
- Train to Approved Person (AP) level for Electrical Safety Rules (ESR) and Isolation Safety Rules (ISR) as appropriate.
- Perform duties of the Approved Person, meeting technical standards.
- Write engineering specifications for enquiries.
- Prepare detailed risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
- Conduct site surveys, take measurements and photos, and assess operational access and egress.
- Resolve technical and logistical issues.
- Support site needs, including materials, labor, and resources.
- Lead procurement of materials, including creating and reviewing bills of materials.
- Organize and prioritize workload within schedules.
- Attend and participate in client meetings.
- Liaise with clients and report project progress to senior management.
- Manage defect resolution and close-out.
- Manage suppliers and subcontractors, evaluate quotations.
- Ensure adherence to project schedules and report discrepancies.
- Prepare and review tenders for management approval.
- Inspect completed works at supplier premises.
- Deputize for team leaders when required.
- Ensure compliance with CDM & HSE regulations.
- Accurately set out and level works according to drawings.
- Deliver projects on time and within budget.
Candidate Requirements:
- At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar project engineering role, preferably in engineering or related industry.
- Degree qualification in an engineering discipline.
- Understanding of water and wastewater industry processes is preferable.
- Ability to write detailed reports and understand NEC contracts.
- Full UK driving license required for site travel.
