Job summary

Tetra Tech Europe is hiring a Project Engineer – Civil/Maritime in Belfast. This role involves designing maritime infrastructure projects and producing design drawings and technical reports. Job description

Project Engineer – Civil/Maritime

Shape the future of maritime infrastructure. We are looking for an ambitious and adaptable Project Engineer to join our maritime engineering team in Belfast. This role offers the chance to develop technical skills and contribute to projects that shape coastal infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Concept, preliminary, and detailed design of civil and maritime infrastructure.
  • Production of design drawings and technical reports.
  • Contract administration and site inspections.
  • Structural condition surveys and assessments.

Technical Competence
  • Strong understanding of civil/structural engineering principles.
  • Experience with Eurocodes and design software.
  • Proficiency in CAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Health & Safety awareness.
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset.
Problem Solving & Quality Assurance
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyse and solve technical challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and take direction from senior engineers.
Team Collaboration & Communication
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Confidence in preparing clear and logical engineering reports.
Mandatory Training & Qualification Requirements
  • MEng or BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
Beneficial Training, Qualifications, or Equivalent Work Experience
  • Progress toward Chartered status.
  • Experience in maritime or civil infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with BIM processes and 3D modelling tools.
