Project Engineer - BESS

Are you a Project Engineer with a background in power infrastructure, eager to advance your career in the renewable energy sector? Join an innovative renewable infrastructure specialist where you can enhance your skills across the lifecycle of battery energy storage system (BESS) projects.

This organisation contributes to the drive towards net zero, specialising in development, delivery, and asset management of BESS infrastructure. They are capable of delivering scalable projects, with 1GWh under construction and a multi-gigawatt pipeline worldwide. They seek to expand their team to support their growth.

The Project Engineer will perform engineering tasks across development, construction, and operational stages of BESS projects, including drafting electrical designs, liaising with contractors and stakeholders, and supporting asset management.

Suitable candidates will have experience throughout the project lifecycle for large-scale electrical infrastructure, a relevant engineering degree (electrical, mechanical, power), and be flexible to travel internationally.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Involved across the full lifecycle of utility-scale BESS projects: development, construction, and operations.
2. Develop designs, permits, and specifications; manage technical approvals.
3. Coordinate design with suppliers and stakeholders for installation and operation.
4. Collaborate with global teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
5. Report progress to senior management.
6. Support Asset Management to ensure operational excellence.

Location: Office based in London (minimum 3 days a week), with international travel.

The Person:

• Experience as a Project Engineer or similar, overseeing project lifecycle stages.
• Experience working on power infrastructure, ideally BESS, Solar, or Wind projects.
• Degree in electrical, mechanical, power engineering, or similar.
• Able to commute to central London and flexible to travel internationally.
