Job description

Amazon is looking to hire an experienced, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Project Engineer to support the expansion of the Amazon Logistics Extra Large (AMXL) network. As a member of the Japan AMXL Team, you will be responsible for supporting the design, optimization, and installation of building infrastructure, material handling equipment, and processes for our existing and future network.

Responsibilities:

1. Create layouts based on all standards and policies for legacy/new sites, aligning with stakeholders.
2. Provide CAPEX estimations based on layouts and historical data to support financial assessments.
3. Manage projects related to budget, schedule, quality, safety, and stakeholder engagement for new site launches and legacy site modifications.
4. Participate actively in cross-functional infrastructure projects, providing technical input and conducting value engineering/value analysis.
5. Ensure projects adhere to all Environment, Health & Safety policies and procedures. Proactively raise potential EH&S issues and promote safety awareness.

Minimum qualifications:

1. 5+ years of experience as an industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment.
2. Bachelor's degree.
3. Fluent or advanced proficiency in Japanese and English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at an intermediate level.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, MS Project) at an advanced level.
• Experience working with and managing third-party vendors.
• Enthusiasm for working in a diverse team and contributing to an inclusive culture.
