Qualifications

Your impact

Do you want to be part of bringing latest generation rotorcraft designs to life?

Working as a Project Engineer at the Home of British Helicopters, this role offers technical variety in a customer focused domain. Reporting to the Assistant Chief Project Engineer, you’ll be responsible for Project Engineering aspects relating to the AW101, working with cross cultural customers to find a technical solution.

Working effectively at all working levels of the Company’s business, and across business functions, you will need to be flexible and resourceful in changing trials programmes and be able to represent the Company with external agencies.

You will also be responsible for the following activities:

  • Understanding contractual and certification requirements of the customers and the certifying authorities
  • Managing, analysing and co-ordinating the Systems Engineering activities relating to the air vehicle or related modifications/tasks. These activities encompass requirements capture, design, qualification, certification and acceptance by the Customer
  • Providing a working level technical interface with external and internal customers and/or suppliers
  • Supporting the Chief Project Engineer in all matters of safety and continued airworthiness

What you’ll bring

  • Qualified to degree level or HNC/HND/BTEC and Apprenticeship or equivalent in mechanical or aeronautical engineering or an allied discipline, with comprehensive working experience
  • Sound knowledge of the operation of the air vehicle, aircraft systems and operational uses
  • Ability to use the DOORS package for requirements management and tracking
  • A good working knowledge of helicopter engineering
  • A good working knowledge of technical procedures
  • A knowledge of aircraft airworthiness and safety requirements and procedures
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and data analysis techniques would be advantageous
