Title: Project Engineer
Location: Kidderminster, West Midlands
Overview:
We are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to work for our client at their site in Kidderminster. This is an exciting opportunity suitable for a self-motivated individual interested in joining an established Engineering department.
The role involves managing various ongoing projects, including cost-effective design, material procurement, project initiation, control, and the compilation and submission of all related engineering documentation.
Job Summary:

- Assist Sales with quotation drawings and documentation (workload permitting).
- Support development of new equipment and product ranges (workload permitting).
- Help create standard 3D models and library parts (workload permitting).
- Design cost-effective solutions by standardizing parts and components.
- Produce General Arrangement drawings, Manufacturing drawings, and Technical Specifications.
- Create 3D models for estimating weights, volumes, and interference checks.
- Verify designs through calculations and supervised FEA/CFD analysis.
- Design products compliant with health and safety legislation.
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes (e.g., ASME VIII, B31.3) and legislation (e.g., PED).
- Prepare material requisitions based on technical and quantity requirements.
- Utilize standard components and reference part numbers from the company system.
- Manage projects/contracts from sales hand-over to delivery.
- Organize tasks and workload for engineering team members assisting on larger projects.
- Liaise with Quality and Production departments to coordinate activities.
- Supervise workshop personnel and subcontractors as required.
- Prepare and organize all engineering documentation for contracts.
- Submit required documentation to clients or third parties via the Documentation department.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum GCSE Grade 5 (equivalent to grade C) in Maths and English.
- HNC in Mechanical Engineering required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and 3D Modelling.
- Knowledge of ASME PV code (preferred).
- Understanding of manufacturing, welding, piping, and materials.
- Oil & Gas industry experience preferred.
- Experience with filters, strainers, and pressure vessels preferred.
