Job Description: Project Engineer – R&D, PPMA, Bakery Systems, Thermal Design.

You will lead a small design engineering team developing custom machinery for the industrial bakery industry. Responsibilities include designing new machines and concepts, improving existing designs, and solving problems. The role is office-based with opportunities to visit manufacturing, supplier, and customer sites for testing and support.

You will join an experienced UK and India-based team providing bespoke bakery solutions based on customer requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of design engineers on multiple projects
• Create project plans and manage design processes
• Design machines and concepts using SolidWorks and/or AUTOCAD Inventor
• Create models, drawings, and bills of materials
• Collaborate with sales, applications, production, and controls teams
• Produce detailed drawing packs for manufacturing
• Ensure compliance with machinery safety regulations

Candidate Background:

• Experience designing industrial ovens and ancillary equipment for the food industry
• Background as a Senior or Lead Engineer or Project Engineer
• Mechanical design experience in process equipment, machinery, conveyors, or materials handling sectors
• Knowledge of project planning, customer interaction, sheet metal, structural frameworks, ducting, HVAC, pneumatics, safety standards, and 3D CAD software
