Job summary

Booth Welsh Ltd in Bristol, England, is seeking a Project Engineer - Pipework / Support Manufacturing to support the full lifecycle of piping design from early design handover to commissioning. You will join thePiping team and provide engineering support to the Package Project Management team.

The role requires a degree in engineering, experience in pipework/manufacturing, and ability to manage design changes and TQ processes in a fast-paced environment. Full-time on site role in Bristol.

Qualifications

  • Experience on technically complex projects; nuclear energy sector preferred.
  • Expertise in pipework manufacturing/construction management.
  • Proven track record delivering safe engineering on schedule and budget.
  • Experience engaging, influencing and resolving stakeholder issues.
  • Strong presentation, communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support PM team in weekly/monthly meetings and document actions.
  • Maintain support tracker from HO2 through manufacturing HO3.
  • Manage design changes post HO2 pre-HO3 stage gates.
  • Chair TQ meetings and facilitate responses from stakeholders.
  • Keep CEMAR updated to reflect TQ progress and resolutions.
  • Provide engineering input to HO3 requirements.
  • Contribute constructability input for HO1-HO2 as needed.
  • Support Lead and project team as required.

Project Engineer Booth Welsh Ltd•Bristol, England, GB

JOB PURPOSE

The "Project Engineer - Pipework / Support Manufacturing" reports functionally to the "Piping Manufacture Lead" and should be considered as the person providing full support in all activities supporting manufacturing progress. As part of the Piping team, you'll be supporting the full lifecycle of piping design, from early basic design at Handover 1 through to final handover for commissioning at Handover 4

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Providing Engineering (Technical) support to the Package Project Management team, including attendance at weekly / monthly PM meetings.
  • Collate and maintain support tracker to record support book releases and design holds at HO2, through to manufacturing completion at HO3.
  • Manage change management process relating to design updates post HO2, pre-HO3.
  • Manage the Technical Query (TQ) process for the package, including chairing regular TQ meetings with stakeholders and facilitating responses from
  • Ensure CEMAR is maintained to reflect TQ progress and resolutions.
  • Manage Engineering input to HO3 requirements.
  • Provide technical input into HO1-HO2 'Constructability' issues, as required.
  • Provide support to Lead, as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Track record of working on projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated
  • Demonstrate expertise in relevant technical discipline within the pipework manufacturing / construction / management environment.
  • Proven ability to successfully deliver engineering safely to the correct quality, time and cost in a fast paced, schedule driven environment.
  • Experience of successfully engaging, managing and influencing groups of stakeholders and facilitating issues resolution.
  • Good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks.
  • Meticulous and rigorous approach to engineering to achieve high professional standards.
  • Ability to work autonomously but with awareness of own limitations.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering, construction, or other related field.
  • Working knowledge of French language an advantage, but not essential.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

Working level knowledge of, and use of, the following (or similar equivalent) software tools:

  • Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • 3D PDMS or Navisworks
  • Contract Management software (eg. CEMAR, Teamcenter)
