Qualifications

Responsible for the technical and commercial aspects of a number of contracts. Will serve as the main project contact for customers and other departments, ensuring that contract requirements are scheduled and successfully completed.

Completes assigned activities under the general direction of the Projects Manager.

ESSENTIAL GENERIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  1. Review all applicable job data, including POs, project plans, specs, and provide comments when applicable;
  2. Coordinate with other departments and Project Engineers/Managers to meet scheduled deadlines, maintain schedules for purchasing, fabrication, construction, inspection, start-up, etc., prioritize staff workload, and assign warranty items to engineering staff;
  3. Schedule and conduct project review meetings focusing on scope of supply, cost, construction, and project scheduling;
  4. Advise Project Manager of project status while adhering to policies and safety procedures;
  5. Report variations to Project Manager, including costs and problems affecting delivery, profitability, and warranty;
  6. Communicate promptly with customers regarding project schedules and issues;
  7. Oversee timely submission of payment applications, invoices, support debt collection, and bank guarantees;
  8. Ensure Project ITPs and/or Quality Plans are produced as required;
  9. Perform work in accordance with safety procedures;
  10. Contribute to proposals and design as needed;
  11. Other duties as assigned.

LOCAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  1. Receive orders from the Proposals Engineer, attend hand-over meetings, and familiarize with contract requirements;
  2. Assist Applications Engineer in designing and sizing process units for wastewater treatment;
  3. Set up schedules for document and schedule submissions;
  4. Oversee contract progress via meetings;
  5. Maintain contact with customers regarding progress and queries;
  6. Attend contractual meetings as necessary;
  7. Maintain contract management systems;
  8. Oversee invoice submission, approval, and collection;
  9. Monitor contract variations and ensure profitability;
  10. Monitor warranty period, minimize warranty claims, and report issues;

Leadership and supervisory responsibilities involve maintaining leadership within the company and supply chain partners to ensure professional project delivery.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE (Preferred)

HNC or higher in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, with experience in engineering or project management, especially in designing and delivering EPC contracts. Knowledge of NEC, I Chem E conditions of contract preferred.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to interpret complex industry documents, respond to technical and commercial issues, and prepare status reports.

INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT, DECISION MAKING & PROBLEM SOLVING

Capable of making decisions using various variables in standard situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Project, and MS Office;
  • Advanced mathematical skills for complex situations;
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and abroad;
  • Ability to read and understand specifications, fabrication, erection standards;
  • Knowledge of wastewater processes;
  • Ability to work within a small multidisciplinary team;
  • CAD experience is advantageous but not essential;
  • Understanding of commercial terms and conditions and contracts.
