Job description

Job Title: Project Engineer

Location: Wellington, Somerset

Hours: Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 4:30pm Friday's - 7:30am - 12:30pm

Salary: £30,000 per annum

As a member of the Engineering & Development team you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and development of new product projects from conception to completion, including the transfer into mainstream production, ensuring that they are all completed within the specified customer requirements and time scales.

Day To Day This May Encompass

  • Driving new projects from conception to completion
  • Discussions with our Business Development Managers and Production Team to ensure the business and our customer needs are clearly met
  • Plans and re-evaluates all stages of the project within the 'New Product Introduction' and AQP systems using control plans and FMEA, ensuring the Business Development Manager or customer is aware of project progress, product limitations or unforeseen complications, including timings.
  • Ensures the final product conforms to the customer's specification, the company's internal quality standards (TS 16949) and current health & safety legislation.
  • Ensures all work undertaken on the shop floor with or without the assistance of the Production Team is undertaken with the appropriate training and due consideration to own and others health & safety.
  • Required to use Solidworks CAD system to produce accurate 3D models, drawings, and to help with the design and manufacture of tooling
  • General problem-solving activities to support continual improvement efforts.
  • Inputting information on our various customers quality part acceptance systems

For This Role You Will Need To Preferably Have

  • An engineering-based education or be able to show equivalent experience
  • Be computer literate
  • Be able to work to a high degree of accuracy and repeat ability
  • Good organisation skills & administration skills
  • An awareness of general problem-solving methodology and techniques.
  • Experience of CAD systems, engineering drawings, tool design and project management
